NORWALK OYSTER FESTIVAL

The 2007 Norwalk Oyster Festival food booth fund raiser will be held
September 7-9. As in past years our church will sell bratwurst, knockwurst, potato pancakes and more at the Oyster Festival
to raise money for church activities. Many church members work long hours but
the rewards in fellowship and money are great. We hope to see you there! (See more photos of the fun in the
photo gallery)

PUMPKIN & HOLLY FAIR

Our church hosts what we feel is one of the nicest
fairs in the area. This year it will be held on Friday November 17th from
5:30 until 8:00p.m. and Saturday, November 18th from 9:00a.m. until 3:00p.m.
It will feature Christmas Fantasy decorations, Potpourri gift items, gingerbread
houses and designs, quilter's delights, Gourmet food baskets, homemade food
goodies and our Harvest Cafe featuring homemade soups, pies and sandwiches.
Santa will make an appearance for taking pictures with the kids! Don't
forget to purchase several raffle tickets for a chance to win among other items
a beautiful queen size handmade quilt. We hope you will visit us to
do some holiday shopping.

SPOONER HOUSE CHRISTMAS DINNER
Each year the Huntington Congregational Church hosts a Christmas Dinner for
the residents of the local homeless shelter. This year the dinner will be held
on December 8, 2006. It is a wonderful evening of food
and fellowship. Below are some pictures from the 2003 dinner.

JOY TO THE WORLD!
This year we again have a chance to share the joy
of the season with a small part of our world. On Friday, December 8th,
at 6 p.m., we will be hosting the annual Christmas Dinner for our neighbors at
Spooner House here in Fellowship Hall. On this evening we pick up the residents
and drive them to Church, where they are greeted with the friendly smiles of HCC
members who attend, the wonderful aroma of a home cooked meal, a beautifully
decorated hall, and gifts for each of them. This year we are fortunate to have
Bruce Hartel to entertain us with his gift of music.
We all sit down together to eat, enjoy each other
and the season, and listen to great music. Our menu for this year is:
Butternut Squash Soup
Roasted Pork Loin with Honey Mustard Glaze
Rice Pilaf
Garden Salad
Baby carrots in a butter/dill sauce
Christmas cookies for dessert
Please look for the signup sheet in the alcove.
We encourage all to join us on that day…it is a wonderful way to share the joy
of the season with those less fortunate than us. We will need people to drive
the residents from and to Spooner House, and people to bake Christmas cookies.
And of course, we need a lot of money to make this all happen. In order to cover
the meals and gifts for the Spooner House residents, we need approximately $800.
We ALWAYS exceed that goal, and we are hoping to do the same this year.
Donations can be given to Holly Fassbender,
Susanne Keirstead, or left with Karen Boroski in the church office. If you are
writing a check PLEASE be sure to make it out to either cash or Holly Fassbender.
