Valley Interfaith Caregivers, a Faith in Action program, is a network of trained volunteers who provide support services and companionship to elderly and disabled residents living in the six towns of lower Naugatuck valley. Towns in our service area include Ansonia, Derby, Shelton, Seymour, Oxford, and Beacon Falls, CT. Services that are provided include friendly visiting; medical transportation; shopping; light housework; help with paperwork; and referral to additional community resources and services. All services are provided free of charge to the recipients. Our mission is to help fill the unmet needs of these individuals, allowing them to remain independent and in their own homes as long as possible and avoid institutional care. Our program is supported by 15 member congregations in the region, both financially and through their volunteers.
