Women’s Fellowship
The Women’s Fellowship is an active part of the Huntington Congregational Church that provides the women of the church an opportunity to worship, study, do public service and have social interaction. The current co-Presidents are Laura Salvio and Sue Lindley who would be happy to meet with anyone who might have questions or be interested in joining the Women’s Fellowship. There are five circles offering a variety of meeting times and activities – each serving a different need in the lives of our women members. Our circle leaders are as follows: Circle One – Henriette Wilson and Shirley Bleston – evening meetings Circle Two – Gail Schoennegal and Sue Lindley – evening meetings Circle Three – Lois Nagy and Diane Friend – daytime meetings Circle Four – Barbara Henschel – daytime meetings Circle Five – Fran Deland and Donna Witkowski –daytime meetings New members are always welcome to visit any of the circle meetings. Please contact one of the chairwomen for specific times and meeting places. During the year we have general meetings for all the women in the church. We will have a meeting in May, one in the fall and our annual meeting in January. Again, all of these meetings are open to all women in the church – you do not need to belong to a Circle to attend. The annual Pumpkin and Holly Fair is our largest fund raiser for the entire year for Women’s Fellowship. It is held just before Thanksgiving, but work is conducted all year long in preparation. Everyone in the church is welcome to participate and will be asked to help however you can. All areas of talent are required to undertake this huge and successful project. Men are also asked to help out for this special event. Other events are scheduled throughout the year as fund raisers and are open to all members of the church. Also we provide, when needed, receptions for funeral/memorial services of church members. Most recently, a vendor showcase was featured:
Women’s Fellowship continues to support many mission projects locally, nationally and internationally. We continue to support the Umbrella, Spooner House and many other Mission projects listed in our budget. In the Spring we make up layette kits for World Service missions and all donations are greatly appreciated. During Lent we sponsor Lenten study groups on Wednesday mornings that are open to all women in the church and are led by our Pastor. All women of the church are welcome and encouraged to become active in our various activities and mission projects. |
